Martin Luther Homes Boronia Inc.

BoroniaOver 50 years ago, a group of young German imigrants and members of the Trinity church started wondering about their own future in their new home Australia. What would happen to them when they grew older and needed help? Based on a lot of hope and courage they managed to develop a business plan, find a building and secure the necessary finances.

On the 7th of March 1970 the first building was officially opened in Bornia, an Estern suburb of Melbourne. This event marked just the beginning of a very successful development which fills our congregation with pride and gratitude.

Today, Boronia has grown to a small village of about 150 inhabitants, hosting several units for independent living for our seniors, as well as an intensive-care unit.  In 2010 the extension of the community centre was completed, which includes a small church that offers services to both the people of Boronia homes and residents of the sourrounding suburbs. You can find the service times in our calendar.

The pastors of Trinity Church East Melbourne and St. John’s Church Springvale, Matthias Kunze and Wilhelm Stern, provide pastoral services to the residents of Martin-Luther Homes – a Christian Home that offers high quality of life to our seniors.
