AKI_concert_1879

AKi is the German abbreviation for Arbeitskreis für Kirchengeschichte, which translates to Committee for Church History. The AKi has been founded on 19th of June 1996 and is in charge of the following tasks:

  • promote the knowledge of the history of our church within the congregation and beyond
  • provide a platform for ideas and information around church history  
  • collect, categorise and keep all documents linked to church history 
  • set up and maintain an archive
  • provide access to the archive for historians.

The Modus Operandi of the Committee for Church History.

The members...

  • meet regularly to report about ongoing projects and plan new projects.  
  • conduct investigations or similar tasks 
  • choose an archivist and a deputy archivist who maintain and administer the archive and who consult visitors.
  • establish and maintain contacts to related groups and institutions
  • attend seminars for their own education
  • plan and conduct the church anniversary party
  • prepare the publication of historical information.

The archive is on the church grounds and is opened every Tuesday, 11am - 3pm.
