Confirmand ClassesConfirmand Classes have a duration of one year. As many of the confirmands need to travel for over an hour, classes are held only once a month after the Sunday service and coffee. From 13:30 to 15:30 we discuss questions such as: What's really important in life? What do I want to achieve in life? What does it mean to me, to believe in God? Together we get prepared for confirmation. We take part in the congregational camp and learn that we are Christians not by ourselves, but as part of a great community. The confirmand classes are run for teens between 12 and 13 years by the pastor and the parish worker. It is not necessary to be baptised to take part in the classes. If you aren't yet baptised this will be done as part of the confirmation service. It is however required that the parents are or become members of the congregation. If you are interested in coming to the next confirmand classes, please contact pastor Matthias Kunze ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
Confirmation 2010
On Sunday, 9th of May 2010, six young people celebrated their confirmation. Before the service, the confirmands met with the Elders Committee and prepared the celebration in conversation and in prayer. Afterwards they all processed into the beautifully decorated church to the sounds of the organ and a trumpet. Pastor Matthias Kunze gave a very warm and sensitive sermon, discussing the first commandment. He encouraged the confirmands to place their faith in the centre of their lives. Even if we want to own great gadgets in the future (a golden calf, or a private jet...), they should never become a substitute for God. It became clear that Matthias Kunze had worked with each of the confirmands individually. His sermon was very personal and their was a great familiarity and connection between him and the confirmands.
